Today started out with a few sprinkles of rain. By the time we reached the Borough Market
we definitely wet. Fortunately, our walk through the parks: Kensington, Hyde, and St James was pleasant. In Hyde Park we could hear the thunder of galloping horses before we saw them.
It is much easier to get a picture of horsemen when they are retreating than when they
are riding towards you.
The men in the green raincoats were the ones with the galloping horse. When they approached the
man in blue, he saluted them. They did not salute in return. These three were watching
the performance of the men and horses. The one in blue kept yelling out orders to the riders.
The only one I caught was, "Steady, steady."
Waiting for their turn to display their skills.
Two by two the guardsmen rode in a large oval. It looked as if they were practicing cornering side by side. As they rode we could hear the clink of metal from swords and armor.
Awhile ago I was lamenting that there were no baby ducks in the parks. Here is a mother with
two little ones and there was another pair of ducks "shepherding" a tiny one around.
Pochard
Pelicans sitting on a rock. This is their special part of the lake in St. James Park.
Fountain in the St James lake. The pelicans are in the far right.
Westminster and the tower housing Big Ben.

Borough Market
The market is open every day but all of the stalls are open on Wednesdays.
The market was filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. A few stalls had every kind of chocolate fudge there could possibly be. Others were vendors selling ethnic foods.
