Walking on the beach

We saw thrdr fish once and thought we would never see them again.  Theycannot be more than 1/2 of an inch long.  We have been wondering how these two exotic fish ended up in a tide pool at La Jolla Shores.  Today when we waded to the tide pool, we were surprised to see the two little fish.
Today they were not close to each other but darting all over the pool.

An unusually large crab to find near the tide pools. As soon as it sensed that we were close by
it retreated under the rock.

We came upon this little fellow yesterday while walking on the beach.  At first I did not think that it was alive.  It is a tiny red or tuna crab and only a few inches long.  These little guys usually live close to the bottom of the ocean along Baja California.  Unusually warm waters brought them to San Diego and Orange counties.  If you click on the link, it will take you to an article in the Washington Post which has a short video made by Scripps of the crabs.

Standing in front of the "house" that we call the castle. In this picture the door was open while workmen were busy.  We could not see anything but another privacy wall.  We think that perhaps a swimming pool is now in the area behind me on your left.

Scripps pier in the distance.

If you look really closely you might notice that this married couple are both in the habit of folding his/her arms across the chest.
