I got this from Uncle John this morning. Lorraine Fisher who lived in the complex is my aunt. She was married to my dad's younger brother Frank and is the mother of Melanie Seeley. Aunt Lorraine must be well into her nineties. Aunt Lorraine is the last person from her generation surviving on both sides of my family.

Aunt Loraine's apartment was across the hall and two doors down from where the fire started. Bruce Seely indicated the Missionary zone conference was originally set for Taber. "What inspiration to move it," he wrote.
On Tuesday afternoon, a fire suddenly blazed at a senior living complex in Lethbridge, Canada, destroying the top few stories of the building. “This sort of fire is a fire chief’s and a firefighter’s worst nightmare,” Lethbridge Fire Chief Richard Hildebrand told the Lethbridge Herald.

Dear family - we've had miracles happen today for grandma. I know many of you are praying for her and I want you to know your prayers are felt by us here. It has been 2 days since the fire - long and emotional. Today the residents in units close to mom were allowed to come with a list to give the fireman so he could go up and try to collect some things. We came with bags and our list. Miracle 1 - just as RoseAnn came we had word that a resident and family member and fireman could go up to the unit (yah! we could look for family history!). Miracle 2 - they allowed RoseAnn and me to go and leave mom as climbing 3 flights of stairs would be hard
Miracle 3 - we walked into her room and saw 'mom's home', streaming sunlight from the windows, plates on the walls. Yes water and smoke, and ceiling down in bathroom but it was beautiful!! Miracle 4 - we could locate the items mom wanted and had help to carry out our 4 bags, fire safe, and tote of her history. Miracle 5 - tonight as I unpacked the bags to let them air out and dared myself to look at the papers and photos brought out.... DRY!!! You can only cry at the sight of that
Family - I believe angles are near us, I believe nearly everything she owns was protected, I believe Greg and dad were near, When her story gets put together our family can remember this day for years...
The long haul is not over, but today I saw many miracles and I'm grateful each one. Thanks for your prayers - we love you all
