Hameau de la Reine or Queen's Hamlet and Farm

I have a collection of tiny houses.  Many of them are done by the artist David Winter.  After going to Versailles today and remembering the village created for Marie Antoinette, I know why I am in love with my very frivolous collection of miniature houses.

Apostles on Notre Dame's Roof

I was startled when I realized that there were figures ascending or descending on the spire of the cathedral.  They are copper so they have mellowed to a very noticeable green.  I have no idea how I have missed seeing them in the past.

However, when I started thinking about the apostles, I remembered that when I climbed the 400 steps up the tower in the building, I had been fascinated by the gargoyles but had also wondered about the people on the roof as well.  But that happened years and years ago.

They were a delightful surprise yesterday.

Visitors in Paris

My sister Margaret and her daughter Elaine came to Paris with Elaine's two daughters
Sarah (16) and Sophie (13).

Friends from our neighborhood came while Margaret and her family were here.
