Escalator which will take you and your shopping cart from the parking garage to the store level.

Owned by Walmart since 1999 and losing money at the moment.  Competiton from German companies Lidl and Aldi have become more difficult competition than expected by Asda./Walmart.

 





Bus 49 to the store and back.

Earl read up about large grocery stores in the area last night and we decided that inspite of the rain we would venture out looking for a larger store.

Not far from the large superstore was a small Lidl (a German company).  Just like so many that we have been to.  Not well organized with cans of beans next to the rubber boots.



In between the two stores was a larger than usual Boots pharmacy.  The problem with most to the larger stores is that they out of necessity are locate outside the city.  Even taking a bus we had a fair amount of walking to do to reach the location on Kensington High Street to catch the bus.  Between the two of us we managed three full bags of groceries but we decided that tempting as the price was we would forgo the Heinz canned soup at 5 for 3 pounds and the large corn flakes for 50p.
