Viaduc des Artes: Finding a new garden in Paris
I think that the Professor likes to surprise me. I was very surprised when I saw our destination today. He told me that we were getting off the Metro at Bastille, but I never suspected that we were heading for a garden.
The New Paris Opera House
Needless to say that there is no trace of a prison left at Bastille.
Instead there is this tall monument in the middle of a busy traffic circle.
The park that the Professor took me to was at one time railroad tracks.
It is now a raised garden that covers about 4.5 kilometers.
What a great surprise.
Climbing roses on the trellis
Instead of being a raised park, the path gradually descended so that there were
walls on either side of the garden which was once a railroad.
We walked beside the Jardin des Plantes and past the Museum of Natural History.
Past the mosque to a small couscous place that we saw the other day.
We had lunch at the Boulangerie la Fourche.
Sounds unlikely doesn't it? Apparently the two business are run together.
