On Wednesday we traveled by the Metro from the Repubblica station to Flaminio
We had clear directions on how to find the Academia Belgica from the metro station, but
of course, it did not turn out to be as easy as we anticipated.
Market outside of the metro stop Flaminico
We saw these markets all over Rome. They had shoes and clothing
for sale often for only a few Euros.
This is George Washington Street running up through a park close to the
Academia Belgica where we stayed.
We walked through the edge of the Borghese Park

On Wednesday and Thursday nights we stayed at the Academia Belgica.
This "butterfly" is now housed inside the building in order to protect it from the weather.

Museum of Modern Art

Lunch at the Museum of Modern Art
The academic houses are isolated from populated areas. We were very grateful
that we could walk across the valley to the art museum to have lunch.

Taking it easy
Modern bathroom without any shower curtain or a bar of soap.
Fortunately there were towels and I had packed some shampoo and conditioner so we
used the shampoo to wash our hands.
