This museum of modern art actually belongs to the city of Paris. We walked along av Woodrow Wilson until we found it on our left. Looking at the pictures, I was surprised by how blurry some of them are. We did not use a flash in the museum but even outside the quality is not as good as it should be.
One of my favorite songs from South Pacific is about being taught to be racially prejudice.
The words to the song are sung by the "sexy lieutenant". Of course, as a teenager
I fell in love with Lt. Cable USMC and/or John Kerr.
I am grateful for Hammerstein's message to all of us. I have attached a link to an NPR
program talking about this song and this issue. By the way,
a short biography of Kerr says that he refused to play Lindbergh in the movie "The Spirit
of St. Louis." He turned down the part because Lindbergh had been sympathetic to the
Nazi regime. Way to go, John.
I particularly liked this picture of Matisse standing on a bench with an incredibly long
tool, working on his murals in the musee.
Are we obsessed with the Eiffel Tower?
Maybe just a little. When we look across the Seine and see it,
we think that we are not too far from "home."
Thanks to a couple from Northern Virginia we have
a rare picture with both of us in it.
Memorial to Princess Diana. "I love you"
padlocks still surround the memorial.
