When we came to Paris in January the canal was empty. There was no water. The city was cleaning out the decades of debris and strange objects people had disposed of in the canal.
Today we went back to see how the canal looks now.

Communist Union demonstrating
As we walked from the Pl de la Republique we saw National Police vechiles parked along the streets.
There were blocks and blocks of them in several different directions from the square/place.
Needless to say we did not take any photographs of them but they were dressed with body armor.
They wore shin guards and shoulder guards as well as vests. We thought they looked protected enough to be playing the catchers position in baseball. Of course instead of a catcher's mask the CRS use large shields that are clear so that the can see through them and still be protected. No sunglasses were needed today however. Gloomy morning and rainy afternoon.
