Central Park
The Professor and I spent almost four days in New York City this past week. Because the Professor believes that no picture is worthwhile if it does not have a person you know in it, I get to be in a LOT of photographs.
We traveled by bus from the Vienna Metro to New York on Best Bus. We arrived about 1:30 pm and as soon as we dropped off our luggage at our hotel, we headed towards Central Park. We were lucky to have good weather and I don't regret any of our walks through and around the park. It is so beautiful. And at this time of year it is fun to watch the ice skaters of the Zamboni cleaning the ice.

In the summer children gather here to hear stories by the well-known
Danish poet and author.
Lots of carriages for a ride around the park

Unfortunately problems have arisen because of people dressing as celebrity figures such
as Big Bird and Cookie Monster. Time Square was full of a lot of cartoon characters
wanting to pose with you for a picture for a price.
This diva was singing classical Christmas music, including
Ave Maria. She had a lovely voice.

Email note to our children:
We got to NYC about 1:30 this afternoon. After checking in we went walking. We walked a lot in Central Park. Lots of horse drawn carriages of course. The ice was being cleaned at the skating rink so we didn't get to see anyone skating there.
We stopped by Saks but the line to see the windows was incredibly long. There were several windows with fairy tale themes such as Cinderella (having a shoe put on her foot) and Sleeping Beauty (with the prince finding her).
Then we went to Rockefeller Center to see the tree.
We bought salads at Chipotle and brought them back here to eat. There was no where to sit at the restaurant. The food was pretty good.
I wish that you were here. It would be so fun to see New York at Christmas time with all of you. .
I can't believe how nice it was today. Sunny and about 47. Tomorrow warm again but with rain.
Love you all.
