The girls discovered how some sand crabs crawling around above ground.
They also found the tiny shells that house tiny sea critters. When they are washed up onto the
shore, they immediately dig into the sand.
This is a huge root from some type of sea grass. We have seen the grass before but
were surprised at how shallow the root system grows.
Elodie said the roots and sand made this clump very heavy. Water too.
With the small horns, is this a very much mauled sea hare?
Camille was a little bit concerned that her mother was getting too close to the big crabs.
Picking the way around the rocks while the tide is on the ebb. The water was not too deep when the waves covered the ground we were walking on. The bigger problem was that with all of the sand the ocean carries we could not tell if we were on solid ground or stepping into a hole.
